2015 Cars And Coffee at the Museum - December

The Kansas City Automotive Museum hosted a Coffee and Cars event at it's museum in Olathe, Kansas on Dec. 5, 2016.   Coffee and  donuts were served to folks who attended the event.  Along with the great automobiles on display inside the Museum, there were also some great looking cars on display outside the Museum in the adjacent parking lot.  The Kansas City Automotive Museum main goal is to bring attention to the great heritage of the Kansas City Automotive Industry. All Speed Expo 2015 - KC

The 1st Annual Boyd Coddington Garage All Speed Expo was held at the KCI Expo Center in Kansas City, Mo. on Nov. 21-22, 2015.  During the trade show and car show there was also a Pinup Contest on Saturday.  Venders from all around the Midwest attended the event.  Some of great custom and classic vehicles were display.  Because the event was held indoors it was a welcome escape for spectators to get out of the 30 degree weather outside.  Everyone seem to have a good time. 2015 Veterans Day Celebration - Sprint Campus

The annual Veterans Day Celebration at the Sprint Campus in Overland Park, Kansas on November 12, 2015.  The annual Veterans Day event is sponsored by Sprint, UMB, Black & Veatch and the City Of Overland Park, Kansas.   Units from Command Generals Mounted Color Guard from Fort Riley, the U.S. Army Heavy equipment, The Lawrence U.S. Army Band, The American Legion, The Vietnam Veterans of America , The 1st Division from Fort Riley, the United States Air force, The Enhanced Veterans Services, The Beechnutz formation flying team, The Johnson County Sheriffs Department, and the Overland Park Kansas Police Department were in attendance.  The morning started off with the playing of the National Anthem, with a fly over of two U.S.A.F A-10 Warthog Airplanes.  Then three helicopters landed.  First to land was a U.S. Army Chinook Helicopter, then a U.S. Army Blackhawk, and finally a U.S. Army Apache Helicopter.  Then there was a fly over by the Beechnutz Flying Formation Team.  There was numerous demonstrations included the Overland Park Police Department remote control robot and the U.S. Army with some of it's Military Ground Support Vehicles.  Also present at the annual event was the Kansas City Chiefs Mascot, KC Wolf, and also Blue the KC Sporting Mascot.  Even though it was a bit chilly, everyone seem to have a great time.  Click here to view photos of the event.

2015 Veterans Day Celebration - Re-Enactors and Static Displays - Ottawa, Kansas

The City of Ottawa, Kansas Veterans Day Celebration capped off is Parade with a Re-enactors in Forest Park.  Both Re-enactors and static displays were at the Park.  There was a Civil War Re-enactment, and Old West Re-enactment, and a World War II re-enactment.  Click here to view photos of the Re-enactors and displays.

2015 Veterans Parade - Ottawa, Kansas

The City of Ottawa, Kansas honored Military Veterans with a Parade down main street on Nov. 7, 2015.  The parade consisted of various re-enactment military units, several local car clubs, numerous Fire and Police department vehicles and several local marching Bands.  The Parade started at the Franklin County Court House and proceeded north to end at Forest Park. 2015 Westlake 4th Annual Classic and Rat Rod Car Show

The 4th Annual Classic Car and Rat Rod Show was held at the Westlake Ace Hardware store in Kansas City, Kansas on Oct. 24, 2015.  The annual event benefits the Children's Miracle Network.  Music was provided by the J.A.B. 2015 Oktoberfest All German Car Show

The Annual Oktoberfest All German Car Show was held at Rosana Square in Overland Park, Kansas on Oct. 18, 2015.  Although the temperatures were in the low 50's and cloudy, approximately 200 vehicles were on display.  The event features vehicles from the Porsche Car Club, BMW Car Club, Audi Car Club, Mercedes Car Club and the Volkswagen Car Club in the Kansas City area. 2015 Butler's Muffler & Brake and HL AUSA Chapter Annual Chili Cook Off & Car Show

The Annual Butler's Muffler & Brake and HL AUSA Chapter held it's annual Chili Cook Off and Car Show in Leavenworth, Kansas on Oct 17, 2015.  The Annual event raises funds for Special Olympics.  About 80 Vehicles attended the event.  Nine different Chili Tents participated in the Cook Off.  Along with the Cook Off and Car show, there was a cake walk and a raffle.  Even though the morning started with temperatures in the low 50's, everyone seemed to have a real good time.  Click here to view photos of the Car Show.

2015 Turner Days Car and Bike Show

The annual Turner Days Car and Bike Show was held at the Turner Middle School in Kansas City, Kansas on Oct. 11, 2015.  The annual car show is one of the last outdoor car shows of the season in the Kansas City area.  At this year's event there were over 300 vehicles on display.  There was a variety of classic cars, muscle cars, hot rods, motocycles and antique cars at this years event.  The weather was great with sunny skies and temperatures in the 70's. 18th Annual Basehor Car and Bike Show

The 18th annual Basehor Car and Bike show was held on Oct 10, 2015 in Basehor, Kansas.  Over 325 hot rods, antique cars, street rods, muscle cars and motorcycles were on display at the event.  The annual event benefits the student programs of the Basehor-Linwood High School.   This show is one of last shows of the season in the Kansas City area and everyone seemed to have a great time. Dean Weller's 90th Birthday Celebration

Dean Weller, long time resident of DeSoto, Kansas, celebrated his 90th Birthday with few of his long time friends.  The Birthday party included his friends bringing there classic cars to the celebration.  The Birthday party was held at Miller Park in DeSoto.  Dean works at his Garage, Gandpa's Old Ford Garage in DeSoto, Kansas.  He has been building Model A Ford for over 30 years.  His craftsmanship and fabrication of parts is truly unique.  Happy Birthday Dean Weller.  Click here to view photos of the Birthday Park for Dean.

43rd Annual Lawrence Region AACA Car show

The 43rd Annual Lawrence Region AACA Car show was held at the Douglas County Fair Grounds in Lawrence, Kansas on Oct. 4, 2015.  The featured vehicles at the annual show were MoPar vehicles .  Along with the featured vehicles, the show include some unique antique, restored and original un-restored automobiles in the Midwest.  Approximately 200 very unique vehicles were on displayed.  The annual show also featured a Model Car exhibit.  The weather was a bit chilly, but everyone seemed to have a great time. 2nd Annual Classics at Forbes

The Classics at Forbes Field was held on October 3, 2015 at Forbes Air Field in Topeka, Kansas.  The car show was hosted by Rusty Metal Productions and the American Flight Museum.  Part of the proceeds is going to help support the American Flight Museum in Topeka, Kansas.  Vintage aircraft of the Museum were on display on the tarmac.  The Snowman's Dream Semi Truck, the Bandit Trans Am, Bufford's Cop Car and "For One Night Only" were in attendance.   It was a beautiful day for a car show with temperatures in the mid 60's. 6th Annual KCI Cruise

The annual KCI Car Show is a free open car cruise in Kansas City, Mo and was held on Sept. 26, 2015.  The annual event is sponsored by the Kansas City Aviation Department. This years event had close to 600 classic cars, muscle cars, hot rods, exotics and import cars.   Food venders where also on hand for the annual event.  The annual event benefits KCMO combined charities. 1st Annual Oak Grove September Fest Car Show

The 1st Annual Oak Grove September Fest Car Show was held on September 26, 2016.  The annual show was hosted by the Paradise Outfitters Ministries and Goobers Garage.  The show was open to all vehicles.  Some vehicles travel up from Ft. Worth and Dallas, Texas to attend the event.  Quite a few TV and Movie Vehicles from the Kansas City area were also on display.   Among  the honored quest was Tom Smith of the Misfits Garage.    There was approximately 150 vehicles at the show.  The weather was fantastic with temperatures in the low 80s.  Click here to view photos of the Car show.

2015 Ol' Marais River Run 29th Annual Car Show

The 29th annual Ol' Marais River Run Car Show was held on Sept. 18-20, 2015.  The annual event is hosted by OTRG of Ottawa, Kansas.  The event is named after the Marais Des Cygnes River that goes through the city of  Ottawa, Kansas.  The show is held at Forest Park, with a cruise down main street Ottawa, on Saturday night.  This years event had over 2000 vehicles.  Click here to view over 600 photos of the car show.

2015 Shawnee 10th Annual Wheels and Dreams Show

The 10th annual Shawnee Wheels and Dreams Car , Truck, and Bike show was held in downtown Shawnee, Kansas on Sept. 13, 2015.  The annual event is sponsored by the Shawnee Downtown Business Association.  The city blocks off  Neiman and Johnson Drive in downtown Shawnee, Kansas, to allow all the vehicles to be displayed.  The weather was fantastic for the event with clear to cloudy skies and temperatures in the low 70's. 2015 Midwest 16th Annual All Truck Nationals

The 16th annual Midwest All Truck Nationals was held from Sept. 11-13, 2015 at E.H. Young Park in Riverside, Mo.  The Annual Event is open to all Makes and Model of Trucks.   Scheduled events included a swap meet, a cruise night, Loud Exhaust Contest and a Burn Out Contest.  There was approximately 400 vehicles on display.  Click here to view photos of the 16th Annual All Truck Nationals.

2015 Turkey Creek 15th Annual Car and Motorcycle Show

The 15th annual Turkey Creek Car and Motorcycle show was held at the Merriam Marketplace in downtown Merriam, Kansas on Sept. 12, 2015.  The annual event is sponsored by the City of Merriam and various Merriam Merchants. The annual event includes Hot Rods, Classic Cars and Trucks, Antique Cars, and Custom Motorcycles. 2015 Longbranch Saloon Friday Night Weekly Cruise September 11th

Longbranch Saloon in Overland Park, Kansas had it's weekly Friday night Cruise on Sept. 11, 2015.  The weekly cruise happens every Friday night until the Fall.  The weather was great with temperature in the upper 70's.  Entertainment was provided by Michael Day DJ Service.  Approximately 120 vehicles attended the weekly cruise. 51st Annual DeSoto Days Celebration - 2015

The 51st Annual DeSoto Days Festival, Carnival and Car Show was held over Labor Day weekend in DeSoto, Kansas from Sept. 3-5, 2015.   The Celebration kicked off with the Midland Empire Carnival setting up Carnival Rides in Miller Memorial Park on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015 and continued through Saturday  Sept. 5, 2015.  Along with the carnival there was various food venders, crafts and arts for everyone to enjoy. Various Bands including The Rippers and Pompous Jack provided entertainment for the celebration.  On Saturday there was a parade through downtown DeSoto, Kansas.  This year's parade ended at Miller Memorial Park and included a car show adjacent to Miller park.  After the Parade, various Fire Departments from around the area conducted a Fire Fighter Challenge Demonstrations. Jim T's Final Cruise

Jim T's Final Cruise was held on Aug. 29, 2015 at the Heartman's Heritage Center in Independence, Mo.  History will show that it was the single largest attended Cruise in the entire Kansas City Metro area.  Almost 3000 Cruisers packed the Heartman's Heritage Center and the adjacent parking lots of all the business on the Southside of Jackson Drive.  Cruisers from all over Kansas, Missouri, Iowa and Nebraska came to celebrate the final Cruise for Jim T.  Jim T, Denver and Dave have hosted the weekly Saturday cruise during the spring, summer and fall for over 5 1/2 years.  From it's humble beginning of 25 vehicles to the Final cruise with almost 3000 vehicles.  Many friendships have started because of this cruise.  It will be missed.  As I like to say, "It's the end of a great book".  Will there be another book entitled "The Return of Jim T's Cruise"?  No one knows. Johnson County Motorcycle Police Training - September 2015

Johnson Law Enforcement Motorcycle units participated in training day in Olathe, Kansas on Sept. 2, 2015.  Motorcycle units from Lenexa, Olathe, Overland Park, Prairie Village, Leawood, and the Johnson County Sheriff's Departments were in attendance.  The monthly training day is designed to sharpen there motorcycle skills on there motorcycles.  Click here to view photos of the training day.

2015 Kowtown Greaserama Car Show

The 15th Annual Kowtown Greaserama Car Show was held at the Platte County Fair grounds in Tracy, Mo. on Sept. 5-6, 2015.  The annual event is hosted by los Punk Rods and is the Midwest's Largest Original Punk Rock Car Show.  The show is open  to vehicles pre 1964 cars and pre 1972 trucks and vans.  Among the vehicles are old school low riders, rat rods, hot rods, jalopies and everything in-between.  It's a combination of Gear Heads, Rockabilly, Punk Rock, Junk Yard Dogs, Gothic and Pin-up Girls.  Vehicles owners from all over the Mid-west look forward to this event every year.  The imagination, ingenious and creative workmanship on some of these vehicles can only be experience by attending the event. 2nd Annual Racing Memories Car Show 2015

The 2nd Annual Racing Memories Hot Rod, Motorcycle, Truck and Race Car Show was held at La Benite Park in Sugar Creek, Mo. on Aug. 23, 2015.  The annual event was hosted by the Central Auto Racing Boosters Hall of Fame and Museum.  The event had been postponed from June because of all the rain.  About 100 vehicles attended the event.  The weather was fantastic for the show, with temperatures in the mid 70's and plenty of blue skies.  Everyone had a great time at the show. Jim T's Second to Last Weekly Saturday Cruise - Aug. 22, 2015

Jim T's Weekly Saturday Summer Cruise In, was held at the Pavilion at Hartman's Heritage Center in Independence, Missouri on Aug. 22, 2015.  It is the largest weekly cruise in, in the Kansas City area.  There was approximately 1100 vehicles that attended the second to last cruise at the location.  Everyone that attended to have a great time.  Click here to view the photos of the second to last cruise.

Crypticon - Kansas City - 2015

The 2015 Crypticon Convention was held at the Howard Johnson Conference Center in Kansas City, Missouri on August 21-23, 2015.   If you liked the Halloween Movies, The Walking Dead, Aliens Movies, Ghostbusters, Tales from the Crypt and the Freddie Krueger Movies, you just had to be there.  Horror Fans had a blast at this years convention.  Also featured at the convention were the custom cars of Joe Pace. The City of Merriam Parks and Recreation held a Car Cruise at the Merriam Marketplace on August 15, 2015.  The Marketplace is a located in downtown Merriam.  Music for the cruise was provided by RetroSonix.  Approximately 60 Classic cars, Hot Rods and Customs attended the cruise. 2015 Leavenworth Cruisers Club 29th Annual Car Show

On Aug. 15, 2015, the Leavenworth Cruisers Car Club held there 29th annual car show at Ray Miller Park  in Leavenworth, Kansas. Approximately 250 vehicles were on display at the event.   There was also a scavenger hunt and local food venders at the annual event. The weather was great with clear blue skies all day long. Basehor Boys Monthly Cruise Night August 2015

The Basehor Boys Monthly Cruise Night was held at Sonic Drive In, in Basehor, Kansas on Aug. 14, 2015. Approximately 60 cars and trucks attended the monthly cruise. 2015 Steve's Villa Capri August Sunday Monthly Cruise

Steve's Villa Capri in Overland Park, Kansas hosted a Sunday Cruise for classic car, hot rods and street rods.  The Cruise is held the second Sunday of the Month during the summer.  There were several vehicles there, that I've never seen. 2015 Vintage Invasion Car Show

Rusty Metal Productions hosted the Vintage Invasion Car Show on Aug. 8-9, 2015 in McLouth, Kansas.  The car show was held at the Antique Engine Park in McLouth, Kansas.  The show was open to all Old Skool Hot Rods, Muscle Cars, Trucks, Bikes, Tractors and Vintage Campers.  Music was provided by the Good Sam Club Band and "For One Night Only".  The rustic country setting of the park provided an ideal place for the car show.  Approximately 60 vehicles attended the event. The Longbranch Saloon Weekly Cruise - July 31, 2015

The Longbranch Saloon in Overland Park, Kansas held it's weekly Friday night Cruise on July 31, 2015. This Friday Cruise was to honor our Veterans.  Boy Scout Troop 225 from Olathe, Kansas was the special Honor Guard.  The Kansas City Betty's were also on hand to honor our Veterans.   Also on hand was the Heartland Honor Fight Group.  Approximately 120 vehicles attended the cruise.  The weather was a little hot with temperature in the 90's, but everyone seem to enjoy themselves. 42nd Annual Show N Shine Car and Truck Show - Bonner Spring, Kansas



The 42nd Annual Show N Shine Car and Truck Show was hosted by the National Agriculture Center and Hall of Fame in Bonner Springs, Kansas on July 25, 2015.  The Annual event is the longest running Annual Car Show in the Kansas City area.  This year approximately 120 vehicles attended the Show.  Those who attended could ride the antique miniature train and enjoy the scenic background of a historical farm town.  Food was provide by the VFW.  With a slight breeze and temperatures in the 90's, everyone seem to have a great time.  Click here to view photos of the Show 'N' Shine Car and Truck Show.
