Coffee and donuts were served to folks who attended the event. Along with the great automobiles on display inside the Museum, there were also some great looking cars on display outside the Museum in the adjacent parking lot. During the trade show and car show there was also a Pinup Contest on Saturday. Venders from all around the Midwest attended the event. Some of great custom and classic vehicles were display. Because the event was held indoors it was a welcome escape for spectators to get out of the 30 degree weather outside. Everyone seem to have a good time. The annual Veterans Day event is sponsored by Sprint, UMB, Black & Veatch and the City Of Overland Park, Kansas. Units from Command Generals Mounted Color Guard from Fort Riley, the U.S. Army Heavy equipment, The Lawrence U.S. Army Band, The American Legion, The Vietnam Veterans of America , The 1st Division from Fort Riley, the United States Air force, The Enhanced Veterans Services, The Beechnutz formation flying team, The Johnson County Sheriffs Department, and the Overland Park Kansas Police Department were in attendance. The morning started off with the playing of the National Anthem, with a fly over of two U.S.A.F A-10 Warthog Airplanes. Then three helicopters landed. First to land was a U.S. Army Chinook Helicopter, then a U.S. Army Blackhawk, and finally a U.S. Army Apache Helicopter. Then there was a fly over by the Beechnutz Flying Formation Team. There was numerous demonstrations included the Overland Park Police Department remote control robot and the U.S. Army with some of it's Military Ground Support Vehicles. Also present at the annual event was the Kansas City Chiefs Mascot, KC Wolf, and also Blue the KC Sporting Mascot. Even though it was a bit chilly, everyone seem to have a great time. Both Re-enactors and static displays were at the Park. There was a Civil War Re-enactment, and Old West Re-enactment, and a World War II re-enactment. Click here to view photos of the Re-enactors and displays.
The parade consisted of various re-enactment military units, several local car clubs, numerous Fire and Police department vehicles and several local marching Bands. The Parade started at the Franklin County Court House and proceeded north to end at Forest Park. Click here to view photos of the Veterans Parade.

Although the temperatures were in the low 50's and cloudy, approximately 200 vehicles were on display. The event features vehicles from the Porsche Car Club, BMW Car Club, Audi Car Club, Mercedes Car Club and the Volkswagen Car Club in the Kansas City area. The Annual event raises funds for Special Olympics. About 80 Vehicles attended the event. Nine different Chili Tents participated in the Cook Off. Along with the Cook Off and Car show, there was a cake walk and a raffle. Even though the morning started with temperatures in the low 50's, everyone seemed to have a real good time. The annual car show is one of the last outdoor car shows of the season in the Kansas City area. At this year's event there were over 300 vehicles on display. There was a variety of classic cars, muscle cars, hot rods, motocycles and antique cars at this years event. The weather was great with sunny skies and temperatures in the 70's. Over 325 hot rods, antique cars, street rods, muscle cars and motorcycles were on display at the event. The annual event benefits the student programs of the Basehor-Linwood High School. The Birthday party included his friends bringing there classic cars to the celebration. The Birthday party was held at Miller Park in DeSoto. Dean works at his Garage, Gandpa's Old Ford Garage in DeSoto, Kansas. He has been building Model A Ford for over 30 years. His craftsmanship and fabrication of parts is truly unique. The featured vehicles at the annual show were MoPar vehicles . Along with the featured vehicles, the show include some unique antique, restored and original un-restored automobiles in the Midwest. Approximately 200 very unique vehicles were on displayed. The annual show also featured a Model Car exhibit. The weather was a bit chilly, but everyone seemed to have a great time. The car show was hosted by Rusty Metal Productions and the American Flight Museum. Part of the proceeds is going to help support the American Flight Museum in Topeka, Kansas. Vintage aircraft of the Museum were on display on the tarmac. The Snowman's Dream Semi Truck, the Bandit Trans Am, Bufford's Cop Car and "For One Night Only" were in attendance. The annual event is hosted by OTRG of Ottawa, Kansas. The event is named after the Marais Des Cygnes River that goes through the city of Ottawa, Kansas. The annual event is sponsored by the Shawnee Downtown Business Association. The city blocks off Neiman and Johnson Drive in downtown Shawnee, Kansas, to allow all the vehicles to be displayed. The Celebration kicked off with the Midland Empire Carnival setting up Carnival Rides in Miller Memorial Park on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015 and continued through Saturday Sept. 5, 2015. Along with the carnival there was various food venders, crafts and arts for everyone to enjoy. Various Bands including The Rippers and Pompous Jack provided entertainment for the celebration. On Saturday there was a parade through downtown DeSoto, Kansas. This year's parade ended at Miller Memorial Park and included a car show adjacent to Miller park. History will show that it was the single largest attended Cruise in the entire Kansas City Metro area. Almost 3000 Cruisers packed the Heartman's Heritage Center and the adjacent parking lots of all the business on the Southside of Jackson Drive. Cruisers from all over Kansas, Missouri, Iowa and Nebraska came to celebrate the final Cruise for Jim T. Jim T, Denver and Dave have hosted the weekly Saturday cruise during the spring, summer and fall for over 5 1/2 years. From it's humble beginning of 25 vehicles to the Final cruise with almost 3000 vehicles. Many friendships have started because of this cruise. It will be missed. As I like to say, "It's the end of a great book". Will there be another book entitled "The Return of Jim T's Cruise"? No one knows. Click here to view the photos of the final cruise.
Motorcycle units from Lenexa, Olathe, Overland Park, Prairie Village, Leawood, and the Johnson County Sheriff's Departments were in attendance. The monthly training day is designed to sharpen there motorcycle skills on there motorcycles. Click here to view photos of the training day.

The 15th Annual Kowtown Greaserama Car Show was held at the Platte County Fair grounds in Tracy, Mo. on Sept. 5-6, 2015. The annual event is hosted by los Punk Rods and is the Midwest's Largest Original Punk Rock Car Show. The show is open to vehicles pre 1964 cars and pre 1972 trucks and vans. Among the vehicles are old school low riders, rat rods, hot rods, jalopies and everything in-between. It's a combination of Gear Heads, Rockabilly, Punk Rock, Junk Yard Dogs, Gothic and Pin-up Girls. Vehicles owners from all over the Mid-west look forward to this event every year. The imagination, ingenious and creative workmanship on some of these vehicles can only be experience by attending the event. The annual event was hosted by the Central Auto Racing Boosters Hall of Fame and Museum. The event had been postponed from June because of all the rain. About 100 vehicles attended the event. Boy Scout Troop 225 from Olathe, Kansas was the special Honor Guard. The Kansas City Betty's were also on hand to honor our Veterans. Also on hand was the Heartland Honor Fight Group.
